What is it about YouTube that inspires people to use pre-kindergarten grammar, spelling and sentence structure?
I don't know if I can bring myself to read anymore YouTube comments. What causes these individuals to post such ridiculous statements? Is it YouTube? Are they trying to fit in? Not sure what I'm talking about?
Go to any YouTube video. 95% of the "user comments" are a complete waste of time and usually not even entertaining. YouTube comments generally consist of one of the following:
1. Insult the video citing it was made for or by "fagz" or is "totally gay!!1"
2. Tear down another poster, stating that their opinion is less than satisfactory and the poster should instead of surfing YouTube, engage in sexual contact with various family members (this family member is usually stated in the insulter's post).
3. Take note that, "x:xx is ROFLMAOCOPTERAHAHAHA!!!"
4. Spam which states "remove the spaces and check out this link" in order to:
a. See naked pictures of celebrity in video
b. Have good luck for x years
c. Your mother/father/brother/sister not dying at midnight
d. Work from home and make millions
5. People (or animals, perhaps) who take their hands/forehead/paws and bang on their keyboards, causing infinite amounts of random, pointless, unreadable "content." There's usually no point in trying to decipher any of this kind of post. This is probably the best type of YouTube comment, as you don't actually have to fill your mind with someone's half thought out idea; you can just ignore it and not think "did that person actually just say what I think they did?" Every once in a while if you stare long enough at the jargon, words can be made out, sometimes even "complete" sentences.
So what causes people to act like this? Is every website full of these types of inane comments? If so, please don't post on my site. Thanks.
Also, here's a video by The Onion about YouTube, although it's insulting the user-made videos (which also are generally a waste of time) more than the comments. Please note that a lot of the video creators are often also the ones spewing nonsensical ramblings as comments.
The Onion produces some hilarious news parodies, just as funny as The Daily Show or Colbert Report.
